Sleeve length to underarm: 18.5 (19, 20.5) inches
Tension: 18sts & 24 rows = 10cm (4 inches) in st st on larger needles
Materials: 11, (11, 12) 50g balls Estelle Silk
1 pair 4mm, & 1 pair 5mm Adjust needle size to obtain gauge.

Back: With 4.0mm needles cast on 87 (93, 99) sts. Beg with a WS row, work rib pattern as fol:
1st row: * purl 3, knit 1,p1,k1 repeat from * to last 3 sts. P3
2nd row: knit 4, *p 1, k5, repeat to last 5 sts, p1, k4. Rep these 2 rows for 3.5”.
Chg to 5.0mm needles & work 2 rows in st st. Dec 1 st at each end on next row, & on the foll 6th row twice 81(87, 93) sts (to dec, K1, sl1, K1, psso, K to last 3 sts, k2tog, K1)
Work 9 rows even. Inc 1 st at each end on next row, & on the foll 6th row twice. (to inc, K1, M1, K to last st, M1, K1.) Cont even until work meas 13.5 (14, 14) “ fm beg.
Cast off 6 sts at beg of next 2 rows 75,(81, 87) sts rem. PM at both ends of work here.** Cont in st st until work meas 8.5 (8.5, 9)” from armhole cast off.
Next row: K 26 (29, 32), turn leaving rem sts on holder. Working on sts for right shoulder, cast off 4 sts, & p to end. K 2 rows even. Place the rem 22,(25, 28) sts on holder.
Keeping 23 centre sts on holder, rejoin yarn to rem sts & k to end. P 1 row. Cast off 4 sts on next row, then p 1 row. Place rem 22 (25, 28) sts on holder.
Front: Work as given for back to **. Work 2.5 (2.5, 3)” in st st ending with a RS row. With WS facing: p 34 (37, 40), (kI, p1 ) 3 times, k 1, p to end. Next row: K 35 (38, 41),(p1, k1) twice, p1, k to end. Rep these last 2 rows once, then rep 1st row once more. (you now have 5 rows of seed st over the centre 7 stitches, & RS facing for next row) K35,( 38, 41), p1, k1, p1, turn. Keep 4 sts at neck edge in seed st & the rem sts in st st. Work 3 rows even Dec row: on next row, k to last 6 sts, k2tog, k1,p1,k1,p1. Work 7 rows even & rep dec row, then work 5 more rows. K 29 (32, 35) sts, place rem 7 sts on holder, turn . At neck edge, on alt rows, cast off 3 sts once, 2 sts once, & 1 st 2 times. 22 (25, 28)sts left. Work until front meas same as back, & leave shoulder sts on holder.
Working on rem sts for right front: Join yarn at centre front. Pick up 1 st behind centre st, k1, p1, k1, knit to end. Keep 4 sts at neck edge in seed st, & rem sts in st st. Work 3 rows even.
Dec on next & foll 8th row (for dec row, seed st 4 sts, k1, sl1, psso, k to end of row) . Work 5 rows even.
Next row (RS facing) Leaving yarn attached at neck edge (you will use this later for neckband), sl first 7 sts onto st holder. Join new ball of yarn to rem sts, & k to end. At neck edge, on alt rows, cast off 3 sts once, 2 sts once, & 1 st 2 times. 22 (25, 28)sts rem. Work until front meas. same as back, & leave shoulder sts on holder. Using 3 needle bind-off, join the shoulder seams.
Neckband: With yarn still joined at right front neck edge, using smaller needles, work seed st over 7 sts on holder, pick up & k 14 sts to shoulder seam, 6 sts at back neck edge, 23 sts on holder for back of neck, dec 4 sts evenly over these 23 sts, pick up 6 sts to shoulder seam , 14 sts down left front, and seed st over 7 sts on rem holder. 73 sts. Work seed st for 5 rows, then cast off in seed st.
Sleeves: Using larger needles, pick up and knit 79 (79, 83) sts between markers at armholes. (approx 3 sts for every 4 rows.) Work in st st for 15 (19,19)rows Begin dec: dec on next & every foll 4th row 20 (20, 22) times (to dec, K1, k2tog, knit to last 3 sts, slip1, K1, psso, K1) 39 sts remaining. Work 4 more rows ending with the WS facing for next row. Change to smaller needles. Begin rib pattern as given for back,. Work rib for 3.5”, & cast off loosely.
Finishing: Sew first 8 rows of sleeve to the cast off stitches at the armhole at each side. Sew side sleeve seams.
