Contrast B (85008 Ivory) 2 (2-3-3-3-4) balls

Contrast D (85219 Sea) 2 (2-3-3-3-4) balls

Sizes 3.75 mm (U.S. 5) and 4.5 mm (U.S. 7) knitting needles or size needed to obtain tension.

TENSION: 21 sts and 27 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] with larger needles in stocking st.

The instructions are written for smallest size. If changes are necessary for larger sizes the instructions will be written thus ( ). Numbers for each size are shown in the same color throughout the pattern. When only one number is given in black, it applies to all sizes.

STRIPE PAT
With MC, work 4 rows.
With A, work 4 rows.
With B, work 4 rows.
With A, work 4 rows.
With MC, work 4 rows.
With C, work 2 rows.
With D, work 2 rows.
Rep these 24 rows for Stripe Pat.

BODY
Note:
Garment is worked in one piece sideways from cuff to cuff.

**Beg at left cuff, with MC and larger needles cast on 62 (62-68-74-80-80) sts.
1st row: (RS). K2. *Sl1. K1. psso. (yfwd) twice. K2tog. K2. Rep from * to end of row.
2nd row: P4. *K1. P5. Rep from * to last 4 sts. K1. P3. Last 2 rows form Ridge Pat. First 2 rows of Stripe Pat are complete.
Cont in Ridge Pat and work a further 6 rows in Stripe Pat.

Keeping cont of pat, inc 1 st each end of needle on next and every following alt row until there are 78 (84-92-96-108-128) sts, then every following 4th row until there are 106 (110-116-120-130-140) sts, taking inc sts into pat.
Work 5 rows even in pat.

Cast on 25 (29-32-36-37-44) sts, beg next 2 rows. 156 (168-180-192-204-228) sts.
Next row: (RS). K4. Pat to last 2 sts. K2.
Cont in pat, working 2 sts at each end in garter st (knit every row) until work measures 2½ (3-3½-4-5¼-7) ins [6 (7.5-9-10-13-18) cm], ending with a WS row.

Divide for neck opening: Next row: (RS). Pat across 76 (82-88-94-100-112) sts. K2. Turn. Leave rem sts on a spare needle.
**Next row: K2. Pat to end of row.
Next row: Pat to last 2 sts. K2.
Rep last 2 rows until work from dividing row measures 14 (15-16-17-17-17) ins [35.5 (38- 40.5-43-43-43) cm], ending with a RS row.** Break yarn. Leave all sts on a spare needle.

With RS of work facing, join appropriate color to rem sts for Back. Pat to last 2 sts. K2.
Work from ** to ** as given above. Do not break yarn.

Joining Back and Front: Next row: (WS). K4. Pat across 74 (80-86-92-98-110) of Back. Pat across 74 (80-86-92-98-110) of Front. K4. 156 (168-180-192-204-228) sts.
Next row: (RS). K4. Pat to last 2 sts. K2. Cont in pat, keeping 4 sts in garter st (knit every row) at each side edge, until work from joining row measures 2½ (3-3½-4-5¼-7) ins [6 (7.5-9-10-13-18) cm], ending with a WS row.

Cast off 25 (29-32-36-37-44) sts, beg next 2 rows. 106 (110-116-120-130-140) sts.
Work 6 rows even in pat.
Dec 1 st each end of needle on next row and every following 4th row until there are 76 (82-90-94-106-126) sts, then every following alt row until there are 62 (62-68-74-80-80) sts.
Work 8 rows even in pat. Cast off.

Sew side and sleeve seams.
