Divine - Hat & Scarf (knit)

Pretty, practical hat and scarf in lush Patons Divine. Scarf measures approx. 6-1/2 x 72 in (16.5 x 182.5 cm). Hat fits average lady. Shown in Patons Divine Richest Rose (#06430) knit on sizes 6 mm (U.S. 10) and 6.5 mm (U.S. 10-1/2) needles.

MATERIALS
Patons Divine (3.5 oz/100 g)
Hat: 1 ball; Scarf 2 balls

Size 6 mm (U.S. 10) and 6.5 mm (U.S. 10�) knitting needles or size needed to obtain tension.

TENSION
13 sts and 17 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] with smaller needles in stocking st for Hat 12 sts and 15 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] with larger needles in stocking st for Scarf

INSTRUCTIONS

SCARF
With larger needles, cast on 22 sts.
1st row: *K2. P2. Rep from * to last 2 sts. K2.
2nd row: *P2. K2. Rep from * to last 2 sts. P2.
These 2 rows form (K2. P2) rib pat.
Cont in rib pat until work from beg measures 72 ins [182.5 cm], ending with RS facing for next row. Cast off in ribbing.

HAT
With smaller needles, cast on 60 sts loosely.
Proceed in stocking st until work from beg measures 11 ins [28 cm], ending with RS facing for next row.

Shape Top: Next row: *K2tog. Rep from * to end of row. 30 sts.
Next row: Purl.
Next row: *K2tog. Rep from * to end of row. 15 sts.
Next row: Purl.
Next row: *K2tog. Rep from * to last st. K1. 8 sts.
Break yarn and thread yarn through rem 8 sts. Draw tightly and secure. Sew seam reversing last 5 ins [12.5 cm] for turn back.
