Melody - Waves Scarf (knit)

Funky "wave" pattern, bright colors and pom-poms make this scarf a sure hit. Measures approximately 6 x 48 inches (15 x 122 cm). Shown in Patons Melody Rainbow Run (#19734), knit using size 10 mm (U.S. 15) needles.

Size 10 mm (U.S. 15) knitting needles or size needed to obtain tension.

TENSION: 8 sts and 16 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] in garter st.

INSTRUCTIONS
Note: To avoid a hole when knitting slipped sts, knit the stitch 1 row below together with the slipped stitch.

Cast on 12 sts.
**1st and alt rows: Knit.
2nd row: K10. Slip next st to righthand needle. Bring yarn around slipped st to front of work. Slip st back to left-hand needle - Wrap made. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
4th row: K8. Wrap. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
6th row: K6. Wrap. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
8th row: K4. Wrap. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
10th row: K2. Wrap. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
12th row: Knit all sts.
Rep 1st to 12th rows twice more.
Knit 1 row.**
Rep from ** to** 5 times more. Cast off knitwise.

Pom-pom (make 2).
Wind yarn around 4 fingers approx 40 times. Remove from fingers and tie tightly at center. Cut through each side of loops. Trim to a smooth round shape.
