Brilliant - Classic Cardigan (knit)

Classic cardigan dresses up with contrasting trim and bow on neckline. Sizes XS-2XL (32-42"/81.5-106.5cm bust). Shown in Patons Brilliant 4940 Black Dazzle. 3.25mm ( US 3) & 3.75mm (US 5) knitting needles.

Buttonhole Band: Work as for Button Band, sewing in place to Right Front and working buttonholes to correspond to button positions as follows:
Buttonhole row: (RS). K2. P1. K2tog. yfwd. K1. P1. K2.
Sew raglan seams. Sew side and sleeve seams.

Neckband: With RS facing, A and smaller needles, rib 9 sts from buttonhole band as follows: K2. (P1. K1) twice. P1. K2tog. K12 (13-13-15-15-15) from right front st holder, dec 3 sts evenly across. Pick up and knit 18 sts up right front neck edge. K18 (18-18-20-20-20) from right sleeve st holder, dec 3 sts evenly across. K54 (56-56-60-60-62) from back st holder, dec 7 sts evenly across. Bow: With A and smaller needles, cast on 15 sts.

2nd row: (K1. P1) 7 times. K1.
Rep last 2 rows until Bow measures 12 ins [30.5 cm], ending on a 2nd row. Cast off in ribbing. Tie in a bow and sew to neckband as shown in picture.

Sew on buttons to correspond to buttonholes.
