Beautifully textured and richly variegated squares make a gorgeous blanket. Measures approximately 28 x 35 inches (112 x 137 cm). Shown in Patons SWS knit using sizes 5.5 (U.S. 9) and 6.5 mm (U.S. 10-1/2) needles.

Sizes 5.5 (U.S. 9) and 6.5 mm (U.S. 10�) knitting needles. Size 5.5 (U.S. 9) circular knitting needle 24 ins [61 cm] long or size needed to obtain tension.

TENSION: 17 sts and 21 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] with smaller needles in stocking st. 20 sts and 18 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] with larger needles in Star Pat.

INSTRUCTIONS
PANEL 1
With larger needles and MC, cast on 37 sts.
1st row: (RS). Knit.
2nd row: P1. *Purl next 3 sts together, leaving sts on left-hand needle. yrn. Purl same 3 sts together again - Star made. P1. Rep from * to end of row.
3rd row: As 1st row.
4th row: P3. *Star. P1. Rep from * to last 2 sts. P2.
Rep last 4 rows of Star Pat until work from beg measures 6� ins [17 cm], ending with a 4th row.
Next row: (RS). K2. *K2tog. K3. Rep from * to end of row. 30 sts. Place marker at end of row. Break MC.

**Change to smaller needles, A and beg with a purl row, proceed in stocking st (knit on RS and purl on WS) until work from last marker measures 7 ins [18 cm] ending with a purl row. Place marker at end of last row.

Change to larger needles, B and proceed as follows:
1st row: (RS). K2. *Inc 1 st in next st. K3. Rep from * to end of row. 37 sts.
2nd row: P1. *Star. P1. Rep from * to end of row.
3rd row: Knit.
4th row: P3. *Star. P1. Rep from * to last 2 sts. P2.
5th row: Knit.

FINISHING: Sew panels tog in the following sequence: 1, 2, 3, 4.

Top Edging: With RS facing, circular needle and H, pick up and knit 108 sts evenly across top edge of Blanket. Knit 8 rows. With B, knit 8 rows. Cast off.

Bottom Edging: With RS facing, circular needle and F, pick up and knit 108 sts evenly across bottom edge of Blanket. Knit 8 rows. With MC, knit 8 rows. Cast off.

Right Side Edging: With RS facing, circular needle and I, pick up and knit 150 sts evenly along right side edge of Blanket. Knit 8 rows. With C, knit 8 rows. Cast off.

Left Side Edging: With RS facing, circular needle and E, pick up and knit 150 sts evenly along left side edge of Blanket. Knit 8 rows. With A, knit 8 rows. Cast off.
