Learn the basic techniques needed to create a beautiful shawl for anytime of the year!
Lace work and fine yarn come together in this class on that is perfect to the knitter who knows how to knit, but nervious about trying it on their own! Patricipants will learn techniques such as
yarn over (YO), knit 2 stitches together (K2tog), knit into the front then the back of same stitch (Kfb), through back loop (Tbl) and with yarn in back (Wyib).
2 sessions, first session is 2 hours, second is 2.5 hours. Materials not included.
Dates: Wednesday, February 15, 2023, 6:30-8:30 pm & Wednesday, February 22, 2023, 6:30-9:00 pm
Materials: Approximately 463 yards fingering weight yarn, such as GEM Plus Sock or Best Kind Sock and a 4.0mm, 24-32” circular needle. All supplies are available at Wool Trends at a class discount.
Level: Intermediate. Students must be experienced and comfortable with casting on, knitting and purling.
Location: Comunity Knit Space, upstairs at 238 Hamilton Avenue, St. John's. Parking and main entrance loacted at the rear of the building.
